The Gourmands are small, green creatures that look completely harmless and are probably low on the food chain in their home planet--
Peptos XI. It is unknown what has become of the original 10 Peptos planets, and since we have no information on them it is useless to make any pages about them. Peptos XI has a volcanic landscape, which we don't know if it is an adaptation or not to these small creatures. Whatever the matter, they are still low on the food chain, which, like mmany other creatures low on the food chain, means he has some advantages. Such as their increased stamina, making them harder to catch. But their biggest adaptation is the large appetite. Their gluttony is their advantage--with diamond hard teeth and powerful jaws, they can chew very hard foods. They have four large, adhesive tongues they use to grab their food and digest, while they don't normally chew their food, so the teeth would be believed for more of biting predators, while that has not been proved true. They then have 7 acid-filled stomachs to help them. Unfortunately, this comes with a disadvantage: he can't digest human food. But what he can do is eating the indigestable food, his stomachs convert substances, including metal, iron, titanium and others, to unsolid green spheres, which can be regurgitated at predators with great accuracy. They can also digest explosives, which will explode upon hitting a solid object, though the same explosive force will be used with any things they digest (but as stated, the only things they digest will be inedible to humans). The more explosive the compound the more dangerous the green balls will be. Those are the adaptations that make up for them being low on the food chain.
Ben Tennyson obtains a Gourmand he named
Upchuck in the Ben 10 episode "
The Visitor". His DNA was unlocked by
Xylene to battle one of Vilgax's old
mechadrones that had captured Ben's grandpa, Max. Then, in the sequel series, Ben 10: Alien Force, when Ben has reobtained his old aliens, Upchuck is used once more.
