Magister Labrid is a fish-like alien Plumber who helps out Ben, Gwen, and Kevin in the two-part pilot before sacrificing his life in order to save Kevin's life. Magister Labrid thought that Ben was someone that stole the Omnitrix and attacks him, but later on, he apologizes and tells him that Grandpa Max was missing while investigating a Highbreed plot. He was the also first to point out that Kevin was selling Level 5 weapons Laser Lances to the Forever Knights and that Earthlings can't handle it and that they are only on Level 2. During a battle with the Forever Knights, one of the weapons were damaged and he told one of the Forever Knights member, but he didn't listen, so it self-destructed. He states once again that humans can't take on Level 5 yet. At the end of the battle, he tells Ben, as Echo Echo,Echo, to use his sonic wave to destroy the leftovers of the weapons. While the technology was destroyed, Echo Echo tells him that he is leaking. Magister encourages Ben to find his Grandpa and that he can do anything with the Omnitrix. After he tells that to Ben, he then disappears into a thick cloud of smoke leaving behind his suit, helmet, Ben, Gwen, and Kevin. He uses a laser that is in abilities similar to a laser lance. Dwayne McDuffie revealed that Labrid is Magister's last name and that Magister is actually a title.
