"yes, they can. they r very hard to break, or crack."
i have heard they can cut through anything. so can water. my brother machinist has a machine that cuts metal with water. there is an excellent article on howstuffworks.com about it. and now i will have to research this diamond thing. they can cut anything, but they can also be shaped and chiseled to fit into rings. they can be made into powder to coat cutting tools used to cut other things. Too bad diamondhead is not here to ask. [how is my feeble attempt to keep this on topic, which the topic is wood, so um um . . . i bet diamonds can cut wood, so um,. diamondhead could beat Kevin easily if he was to absorb wood in a fight with him.
right?
i am sleepy and distracted, can you tell?

Hi,mr. know-it-all here(AKA upgrade1) :D.
All of you are correct, Diamond is the hardest natural substance but it is also one of the most brittle. Diamond saws cut granite , but if a diamond cutter does not hit the diamond just right, it will shatter.
There are some man-made ceramic cutters that are harder. But again, also very brittle.
So Kevin forming a diamond shell would not be much good, unless he wanted to refract light :D Or give himself to Gwen as an engagement ring....... HAHAHA.
